Kemmons Wilson's travels : innovate the hospitality industry

Kemmons Wilson was the leader of the twentieth hospitality industry who came up with the innovational idea of that industry on his two travel. In 1951, on a family vacation, Kemmons conceived of an idea that would change the hospitality industry. According to the Kemmons Wilson’s company, he got an unpleasant experience on his first travel. He felt uncomfortable for low quality lodging, and got angry with the fact that he had to pay extra money for his children to stay in the same room. With that experience, Kemmons decided to construct chain motel which can provides the place to stay together with his family. With that vision, Holiday Inns was born in 1952 with two beds in one room at first. The second trip which made the innovation of hospitality industry was in Florida – timesharing.  A new idea began to form and Kemmons decided to reinvent the timeshare industry. When he jumped into the timeshare industry, the industry was facing a difficult situation. Although Wilson began building what he referred to as his “second dream”. Just as he built Holiday Inns for family, Orange Lake Country Club was designed to delight all ages. Kemmons’ entry into the field gave the timeshare industry the possibility. For these reasons, I chose Kemmons Wilson for one of the important people in the hospitality industry
